Traveling to the Middle East – The Safest Places to Visit

The Middle East is a wondrous place to visit with its warm waters, beautiful mountain ranges, and untouched beauty. With some of the oldest history in the world, the Middle East is a great place to visit. However, over the last couple of decades, the political unrest and terrorism in the region have made finding a safe place to explore in the Middle East like searching for a needle in a haystack. There are, however, several places you can head to without compromising your safety.

Zachary Stephen LaytonThe Nile, Egypt – Right now, there are plenty of safe places in Egypt that you can visit. From the pyramids of Giza to the Valley of the Kings, traveling along the Nile is a great option right now.

Cyprus – more than two million visitors a year flock to this sun-drenched island. With spectacular coastlines and quality mountain hikes, as well as the ruins of medieval castles, Cyprus is a great place to escape for some relaxation.

Qatar – the host city of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar is becoming noticed as a great vacation destination in the Middle East. After spending a day kite-surfing, you can head to the camel racetracks to enjoy the traditional sport of camel racing.

Jordan – Even with its proximity to Syria and Iraq, Jordan is the safest places in the Middle East to visit. While there you should visit Petra, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, take the morning to float in the Dead Sea, or dive into the waters of Aqaba.

Zachary Stephen Layton, a biomedical engineer from Seattle, loves to travel with his wife and two daughters. They have traveled to numerous international destinations and are currently planning a trip to the Middle East, which they hope to be able to take in the coming months.
